Inserting one static link into a dynamic drop down list

Hello!

Does anyone know if there's a way to either insert a static link into a dynamic drop down list, or alternatively how to make the whole drop down list static?

here is my list:

On the Greater London option, I want users to be directed to www.hotelheaven.co.uk/en/london.php (as opposed to www.hotelheaven.co.uk/en/showhotels.php?County=Greater+London like all the rest)....

I'd be very very grateful if anyone can explain it to me or send me to a tutorial. I've been searching for ages with no luck!

You could do it with a javascript function that would use an if-else to generate the different urls, or better it could just do the redirect itself without any untidy looking GETs.

Thanks Roger. I'm not exactly sure what you mean though. Do i put an if/else statement in this page or the following one? I don't actually know any javascript. Do you know a tutuorial where I could find out? Or is there no way of just making a static drop down list - I think I might be able to understand that better if there is!

Well, if you want to know about javascript go to java source or java boutique . There you will find great links to tutorials as well as 100s and 1000s of scripts to do almost everything you could imagine. To tell you the truth I rarely write javascript from scratch, haven't done so for years.

To do what I suggested try this

Sorry, my syntax. Told you I don't write much javascript from scratch anymore. Should be:

//but I guess you got that if the window.location is working

//I personally would code it in the form tag rather than the select tag

I'd also check the syntax before using the form's name. Thing is, the document.form syntax gets screwed up if you have more than one form on the page. It pays to learn and use basic javascript on your page so that you can validate user input before submittion.

thanks again. i have got more than one form on the page so i think that'll be where the problem is. i still can't get it to work. will keep trying thanks!
