move_uploaded_file pb

Hello all

I try to make a move_uploaded_file in a directory created by php...all in safe mode..

I got this error...

Warning: move_uploaded_file(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 32030 is not allowed to access /mages/6 owned by uid 99 in /test.php on line 352

somebody knows how to solve this pb ? maybe by modifying the uid of the /6 directory..any idea ?

Is the directory your uploading to chmod 777? firstly that will give permissions to all users to upload.

Also what is the code your using? To upload and create the directory?

mkdir("dirname",0777);

but when looking with ftp I don't see the 777 rights...

Hi,

if safe_mode is enabled then a chmod to 0777 isn't sufficient. The owners of script and directory must match. So try to change the owner of the directory to 32030.

How does the code look like that creates the directory (especially where the dirname is set) ?

yes...how to change with php the owner ?

EDIT: hmmm ... that function is affected by safe_mode, too ... I wonder if that works.

How does the "dirname" look like in the script ?

One additional question: Do you create the image directories outside DOCUMENT_ROOT of the server ?

I will try the chown but :

Note: When safe mode is enabled, PHP checks whether the files or directories you are about to operate on have the same UID (owner) as the script that is being executed.

I try to write in the root directory not ouside..I know well safe mode restriction...

to write the files, I use the full path /home/..../1

chown doesn't work in safe mode..don't see any solution...shit

Read this bug report (especially the last post).

But safe_mode_gid needs to be set to On for that workaround.

thanks I will study..I don't see any positive answer in the bug report...what I read is that is the normal way of work in safe mode...I think the solution is to move the /tmp directory of php for the site in wwwroot...but don't know how to do that..
