Warning: mysql_num_rows():

I'm getting error/warning for some reason, couldn't figureout whats wrong, could anyone help me with this, pls?

$q = "SELECT username FROM ".TBL_ACTIVE_USERS
    ." ORDER BY timestamp DESC,username";
$result = $database->query($q);

$num_rows = mysql_num_rows($result);
if(!$result || ($num_rows < 0)){

also in this function shows the same warning:

      if($this->num_members < 0){

      }
      return $this->num_members;
   }

Theres something wrong with your SQL. No idea what though, need to see the table structure for that.

instead of:
$q = "SELECT username FROM ".TBL_ACTIVE_USERS

try

$q = "SELECT username FROM TBL_ACTIVE_USERS"

You are treating TBL_ACTIVE_USERS as a function or variable instead of the table name.

I've replaced

$q = "SELECT username FROM ".TBL_ACTIVE_USERS

with

$q = "SELECT username FROM TBL_ACTIVE_USERS"

Still showing the same error, actually this script was working well untill I included a poll script into the same page, there maybe something that must be changed, could you take a look at the poll script, pls?

Hi,

where do you define TBL_ACTIVE_USERS
and the other constants. Also make sure to have
SELECT FROM
instead of
SELECTFROM

Add mysql_error() to the mysql_??? function calls to check what might be wrong:

Examples:

$lnk = mysql_connect("host","user","pass") or die("Connection error: ".mysql_error());
mysql_select_db("thedb",$lnk) or die("DB selection error: ".mysql_error());
mysql_query("SELECT ....",$lnk) or die("SQL error: ".mysql_error());
