GD imagerotate problem - alpha transparency gone afterwards - pls help!

hiya,

we´re pulling our hair out over a simple enough function with a weird side effect.

-we produce a png with working alpha transparency using GD

-we want to rotate that png slightly using
imagerotate($pic,15,0x000000);

-after the rotation the transparency is not only lost, but the to-be-transparent parts are black

php version: 4.3.4
gd version: bundled (2.0.15 compatible)
PNG Support enabled

i already found a comment on php.net regarding this, but the offered solution does not work for this particular problem.

anyone ever encountered this and has a solution?

Hi kopfnick,

Have a look at the (commented) manual entry for imagerotate().

The first comment covers your problem, I think.

thanks for your reply, the problem the poster on php.net had has unfortunately nothing to do with ours.

He just seems to try to generate a transparent shadow around an object...
