What I had in mind was (in my head) quite simple. I have an empty field and two buttons. The buttons are browse and upload. When the user clicks browse, they find a jpg on their computer, then press upload. This picture will upload to my web server. When it uploads, it will rename itself to picture.jpg and over write the picture that was uploaded before it.

After it is done, when you go to www.mywebhost.com/image/picture.jpg it'll be what ever picture was just uploaded.

First of all, is this possible, and secondly, if it is possible, does anyone know of a tutorial for this?

Yes this is possible, you should do a quick search for some file upload scripts which are here, I dont know any off the top of my head that are any good.

Functions you may want to look into [man]move_uploaded_file[/man] or [man]copy[/man] both upload the file however act differently under php.ini settings.
