In my opinion, google is my best friend.
when people doesn't answer your questions fast enough, and sometimes they won't, you have to search somewhere else.
second. Buy one beginners book who clearly explains the following. (sure there are also tutorials on this, but why spending time searching for this, if the basics can be bought for a few dollars)
- installation php/mysql (never take a hosting without control panel, saves you a lot of anger with help desks...)
- what are variabeles, constants.
- if / else structures
- functions
etc...
then also make sure there are some examples in it with a link or cd with complete code.
When you have red all this and also how to make connections to a database by example MYSQL , start with your dream...
Why do you wanna learn PHP otherwise.
Build your dream.
And damn, you will forgetting ; or missing closing brackets } a lot.

I think you have created more then you could ever have done with HTML.
One extra remark.
Learn also CSS and Javascript a bit.
Sooner or later, you will need this.
The choice of PhP is a wise decision.
The knowledge of many minds in this community will certainly beat commercial .ASP
