Specific omitions

does any one know how to omit specific files or types of files in a script, i have a gallery script and i wanna have it so that the index.php file is not printed in the page, i dont need to get rid of the DIR i have already dont that i just need the index.php not to print

if any one could tell me or show me how to do it that would be great

were do i put it in the script i tried right after the while function
after the { and right after the first IF statement after the { but niether worked
