Hi,
I have a site setup on Apache @ www.mattskelton.ca on my Windows machine. This is working fine but I would really like to setup a testing server. Right now I am just doing my editing in a sub folder of the document root so to test it I type, www.mattskelton.ca/somefolder. This works alright but I don’t like the fact that people can see my projects while I am working on them. So I think that the answer is vhosts.
This is what I have so far:
NameVirtualHost mattskelton.ca
<VirtualHost www.mattskelton.ca>
DocumentRoot G:/www/
ServerName www.mattskelton.ca:80
</VirtualHost>
NameVirtualHost testsite.mattskelton.ca
<VirtualHost www.testsite.mattskelton.ca>
DocumentRoot G:/testsite/
ServerName www.testsite.mattskelton.ca:80
</VirtualHost>
The first vhost is my main site and the 2nd I am trying to turn into the test one. This is working (partially) but when I type www.testsite.mattskelton.ca it is taking me to my main site www.mattskelton.ca.
Is this because Apache is directing all requests back to my main document root?
Do I have to specify somewhere else (system32 dir) the names of my vhosts?
Does the above vhost info look correct?
Any help would be appreciated
Matt
