Writing Referrer URL to a file

In the process of restructuring a site, I moved files to a different directory - but left redirects in the original location.

I'd like to use php to log:

Referring URL, document.URL, IPAddress, and date - preferribly to a txt file.

In theory, this will tell me 1) If people are calling the pages, 2) and the URL that needs to be updated.

I recognize I am asking a lot - I am not looking for someone to do the work for me, I am looking for code snippets, tutorials and or GOOD reference material etc that will help me on my way.

What reference books do ya'll recommend?

As for your script you should probably do a search for a file logger of some kind however it will look slightly like this
