Using MySQL 4.1.7 with PHP 4.3.9

Any thoughts on why I can't get MySQL 4.1.7 to interact with PHP 4.3.9?

I have been out of the loop for a while now and am trying to get a system up again.

I think it has something to do with mysqli?

You seem to very undescriptive there, no one can help you if no one knows of what your problem actually is people can guess but I am sure it wont help.

Please explain a little better what the problem is what error your getting.

When trying to access MySQL 4.1.7 using phpMyAdmin and PHP 4.3.9 I get this error:

#1251 - Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client
