protecting online pages

Hi,

I need some help...I created a site for a client that has a password protected area. I need to make that area inaccessible to those trying to get it directly by typing in the URL perhaps a You Don'T have Permission to View This Page or somethhing like that. I have very little programming experience...thanks for any and all help!

With .htaccess , or an access control script that you include on all secure pages. Try Kevin Yank's solution to secure php pages.
