How can I get the monthname?

In other words pass in 12 and get december. Does php have a function like this?

i'm an asp programmer doing something in php now.
In asp you have Monthname(12) would do it.

Not that I know of.
Most of the date/time functions that PHP has deal with more complex issues.

PHP's date and time functions can do it - but why bother? All you need is an array. Look at example 3.1 on the page for that function.
