Hey guys, me again.
I have a new project, so am looking for a book.
I'm working with a Flash developer on a really neat K-5 educational kids game site. There will be a log in that will work kind of like IM where they will have a silly username and password. We won't collect any personal info. Well keep track of where they entered and left the site and what their skill level is so they can only access age/skill appropriate games. Several games have already been created with an internal log in.
I was thinking that using PHP/mySQL and sessions (and storing them in the db as we go along) would be the best route for the log-in and keeping track of everything. I just need to know how to set that up between Flash/PHP/mySQL.
I've played around with a trial version of Flash and even created a very simple movie before the trial expired. I have a couple of borrowed books (O'Reilly's ActionScript for Flash MS, The Definititive Guide and New Riders' Inside Flash) to try to get up to speed on Flash. I just need a good book on using PHP/mySQL and Flash. The only one I found that got good reviews on Amazon (Foundation PHP for Flash) is out of print and pretty old to boot.
Thanks,
Alisa
