to choose on page one the number of files you wish to upload, say 70 files.

then generate second page with 70 textfields for file

then fill in one textfield, say 1.zip

BUT NOW comes the trick. can javascript or WHATEVVA, generate the names for the resting 69 fields in the form x.zip with x being the number.

the point is, i dont want, neither do my visitors want, to fill those 70 fields in.

SUGGESTIONS?

File uploads are a massive security issue in browsers, and as such theres no way to use Javascript to fill in a file upload field element that will reliably work under all security settings between different browsers. So no, theres no way to do what you're asking.

if you really want to allow users to upload 70 files, then i would consider requiring them to zip them all into a single zip and simply upload 1 file. PHP has built in functions for unzipping zip files.

that's pain in the a$$. I think I will consider Jupload - it is java applet.
