mass uploading/ mass downloading

hi, Can php be used in mass upload.

From what i searched php seem only able to upload one file per field.

But is there a way for me to select multiple files.

For example, can i browse to my D drive and select all images and upload them to my php and into mySql at one go?

For downloading is there a way i can select items i would like to download and download them at one go?

Pls show me the way!

Not via the browser. The browser only allows you to select one file per file name field. So if you only have one file name field, the browser will only let you upload one file. If you have 5 or 10 fields, then you can upload 5 or 10 files.

Zipping files up is probably the easiest way to go if you limit the user to doing browser uploads. The other option would be to use FTP, but the user would have to have an FTP client and know how to use it.

Multiple. File. Upload.

No for download (see previous post).

i guess for upload i'll learn how to unzip from php.

While for download i will use flashget
