[Resolved] multiple web server ports on one box

Hi all,

I have PHP5 running on an IIS server, all working fine.
However, I want to run a second site on that same box, and I was going to run it on port 81.
Is it possible to have PHP active on more than one port, or am I stuck with only be able to serve on port 80?

Configuring multiple sites is an IIS issue, nothing really to do with php. Neither is the ports used by the web server much to do with php. PHP will run on as many sites on the same box as you configure the web server software, IIS, to handle.

Hi Roger,

Maybe I wasn't clear enough.
I already have the 2 sites running on the box, one on port 80 and one on port 81. This works fine for html files.
Any php files work fine on port 80, but do not work on port 81.
Looking at phpinfo.php I see that there is a Server_Port setting which is 80.

I don't know how to change that setting, but more importantly, can it be set to both 80 and 81 at the same time?

Hi All,

I'm still seeking a resolution for this.
I thought as I workaround I could set up a seperate site on the box using host headers rather than ports, but even that doesn't work.

So now I have two virtual sites on the box, looking like this:
http://mysite1/index.html - works fine
http://mysite1/index.php - works fine
http://mysite2/index.html - works fine
http://mysite2/index.php - does not work

Can anyone please help me to sort this out?
Surely there must be an easy way to run multiple php based sites on the one box!

Newbie error (at least I'm in the right forum!)

I needed to add the php extension in the virtual directory's configuration....

As you should always have done. Virtual sites are no horror: they keep you writing portable code.
