Hotel Booking System

Hello,

I need some help. I'm quite new to PHP & at the moment i'm creating an hotel booking system. I'm a bit stuck with something & was wondering if anyone could help.

The part i'm stuck with is the checking availability of rooms. I want to be able to check the check in & out dates & the room type (single, double), then bring back a message such as we have these rooms available for these dates.

Anybody got any ideas or some code to help me get started. Would be very grateful.

I'm going to assume this is for 1 hotel (yours) only? If so, how do the folks at the front desk know what is available or not? Is this pulled from a database? If so, you'll want to connect to the database, and I can get you code for this if you're set up this way.

I've written two hotel booking systems. One was for a conference system, and the other was for general retail bookings. The first took 6 weeks work and another 4 weeks 'tweaking', the second took about 8 weeks work and another 4 weeks tweaking.

Hotel booking is complicated. I wouldn't recommend trying to write a bookings app if you're 'new to php'.
