Hey all,
This might be the dumbest question ever written, but since I'm in doubt, I have to ask it. 🙂
A script of mine needs to do some stuff on my harddisk:
- do some stuff
- create a file
- Access file
- do some stuff with content
- delete file
- do some stuff
Now my question is: When my script gets to 1 and starts creating the file, does PHP stay at 1 until the OS (Linux in this case) is done creating the file, or does it move on as soon as the order for 1 has been issued?
I ask because I have A LOT of data being moved back and forth on my harddrive constantly, and I'm a bit worried that the script might end up at 3 and 4 before the file has even been created due to the massive traffic on my disks from other programs.
This is of course moot if PHP stays at 1 until it's done and then moves on. 🙂
I hope someone can help clear this up, and again: Sorry for asking such a stupid question.
