For the past two years, we have been using Coranto (variant of NewsPro) to run news at our site. I use it for building various articles and maintaining links to those articles as well as posting simple news posts on a main page. It has worked well because it is very full featured, and has allowed me to maintain things any many different ways. But, lately I have been having CGI related problems with it. I hate the idea of all the news in one file and have wanted to switch to something MySQL driven for some time.
Now is that time. I want to find an alternative to Coranto/NewsPro that is database driven, but just as fully featured and customizable. If I knew PHP well enough I would just write my own, but I can't. Some things I have looked at are CuteNews, Mambo, and Utopia News Pro. I am not willing to switch to something like PHPNuke. What is the best alternative?
