Protecting video from listing website

Hi,

i've got a site with several video. In my stats, I saw that many listing site links to my video and take all my bandwith. So how can I protect these video to be accessed from others site?

Unfortunatly, you can not block this because a person can begin the play of the video and then during play time, they can view the video properties or view the pages source. This is a way to get the path to the source.

You can try the below, but you can still get it from the properties.

I think theyre more saying that on the other peoples websites, they are embeding the movie link that is stored on nomad's server.

Ie:
On website2..

<embed src="http://www.nomad.com/movie1.avi">

There isnt a way with PHP to solve this that I know of.

If you are running Apache you can set up an .htaccess file, and say that requests for your video files can only come from within your own site. If it comes from an external site the file will not load on the thiefs website.

the .htaccess file is what i need, but i'm not very familiar with this type of file.

Did someone have some link for tutorials or any help I can find for that?
