Hello there. Hope everyone had a good xmas.
I want to make a website in PHP and MySQL... Im slowly getting my head around the two, but the way Im working at the minute is writing code in TextEdit and then uploading that to my PHP & MySQL enabled web host. But this is driving me mad and is very time consuming!
What I want to do is run PHP and MySQL off my Mac OSX laptop locally, so I can develop and test locally before loading everything up to my web host.
Ive tried again and again to get them working on OSX but I fail miserably! Maybe I really am just think??! I mean, is it actually possible to do this? I used to develop websites on PCs using ASP. That was simple enough to get it running locally... I was testing and developing to my hearts content, then, at the end of the day, upload all my work to the web host. Nice! But could anybody please help me with some nice simple instructions (for a nice simpleton!) on how to install and run PHP and MySQL locally on a Mac!
Does anyone else do this successfully? Am I just being a fool?
