renaming files

just wondering how you could make a script that read the contents of a folder then copied then copied teh files and renamed them.

ex

DCS2590.jpg
01.jpg
DCS0986.jpg

copied and renamed to same DIR

DCS2590.jpg
01.jpg
DCS0986_.jpg

is it even possible in php?

alright i have a code but im getting an error that is saying error on line 23 which is the sloseing for the PHP script. i dont get it.

You should indent your code better it will make it easier to find errors

well i found one problem but this isnt what is make int not work i did &file instead of $file. stilll dont work though
