Get an XML tag

I'm sick of having to change XML parser if I'm coding for PHP 5 and not PHP 4. That's why I decided to create my own parser.

The only thing is this: When I create a Regex to model a tag and all tags and data inside it, it becomes about 300 characters long, and I can't figure out what any of it means any more! 😕 Would someone please help?

Out of interest, why do you need to change parser at all?
