@chmod and mkdir

mkdir("/home/virtual/jynk.net/var/www/html/rca/admin/studentfolders/$FolderName", 0777);
@chmod("/home/virtual/jynk.net/var/www/html/rca/admin/studentfolders/$FolderName",0777)

this code creates all the folders i need and seems to set the chmod to 777. but i have an uploading script (that i've used a million time before) that just can't upload into any of the folders created by the code. even if i reset the writes in golive, i still can't upload to the folders?

but if i create a folder through golive, and then set the permissions there too- i can upload to the folder? any ideas? its really fustrating & doesn't seem to make any sense?

did you try re owner the folder after it created by code. Just to see if it's owner's problem(not only write)?

do you mean recursive? if so how do i set them to it? otherwise im not sure what you mean?

what do you mean by golive, my guess is you SSH the system and do manual change. If so try something like:

chown -R v3nt /dir/to/folders

it change the ownership to yourself instead of nobody

this is not a solution, but try to find problem

not unless you can have your own php.ini

you can use php's ftp functions to log into your own site on the fly and create the dir that way. things will work properly then.

there is a code sample showing how to use ftp to do this on the manual page for mkdir()
