T_STRING -- eh??

It says unexpected T_STRING in line 9, but I dont get it, whats a string? I read a tutorial on reading errors, but it say T_'then problem of name' but I dont know what a string is..
this is my line 8-10

8 --  //starting the table
9 -- echo "<table width="100%">
10 -- ";

Heh, I know the "100%" is wrong, because it must include some slashes, but i've tried with/without 'em.. anyone can to help?

O, and btw, is there a program that checks any errors in the program - I tried PSPAD and PHP CODER PRO! but none of them seem to do it.. 🙁

Since you failed to escape the double-quotes in this portion of the code, it's possible you have done the same elsewhere. Also, even though the problem points to line 9, it is very possible that the problem actually occurs before that. Post your current code (lines 1-20) so we can take a look at it.

Here's a tip from me:

When creating tables or things which will require double quotes, start the echo with a single quote.

That's my tip-of-the-day. Here's an example:

//starting the table
echo '<table width="100%">';

/******************
It is also possible to just reverse the quotations like so:
******************/

//starting table
echo "<table width='100%'>";

Either one should work.

It would, except that BittenApple for some reason decided to end the statement on the next line instead, with a closing double quote and terminating semi-colon.

When creating tables or things which will require double quotes, start the echo with a single quote.

Generally, I agree.
Also, since in XHTML all attribute values should be quoted, one should do this anyway.
