Display integer only of floating point number

You have a couple options depending on what you want to do.

You could use [man]explode[/man] on the period. You'd get an array and the contents of the first element would be what you want. I'm not sure I'd recommend this approach.

Another way is to use [man]ceil[/man], [man]floor[/man] or [man]round[/man]. One of these I think would be much better (more specifically: [man]floor[/man]).

I've never really looked into the *val() functions and so played around a little bit. It seems they are just wrappers for the cast operator, that is

echo (int)1.5;
// has the same effect as
echo intval(1.5);
