tracking ip address of client when proxy in place

hello!
i am using a linux server and running apache server how can i track the ip addresses of users of my site.
getnv(remote_addr) gives ip address of proxy server

If you want their IP instead of their proxy's then you're out of luck. One of the reasons why people use proxies in the first place is because it hides their own IP.
