hello members i badly needed your help here maybe you could help me..

here's the question.

i have 2 tables like this

tbl_first
webid - bigint 20
title - varchar 50
content - text
userid - bigint 20
date

tbl_second
txtid - bigint 20
title - varchar 50
content - text
userid - bigint 20
date

now i want to have a query that will join the 2 tables with a certain userid and order it by date

sample data is like this

tbl_first
1 | title1 | testing web | 1 | 2004-01-01 12:00:01
2 | title2 | testing web | 1 | 2004-01-01 12:10:01
3 | title3 | testing web | 1 | 2004-01-01 12:12:01
4 | title4 | testing web | 1 | 2004-01-01 12:15:01
5 | title5 | testing web | 1 | 2004-01-01 12:25:01

tbl_scond
1 | title1 | testing web | 1 | 2004-01-01 12:01:01
2 | title2 | testing web | 1 | 2004-01-01 12:09:01
3 | title3 | testing web | 1 | 2004-01-02 12:13:01
4 | title4 | testing web | 1 | 2004-01-03 12:16:01

so the output would be like this

Hi,

I think you can do that with a UNION query, something like

(SELECT webid AS id, title, content, userid, date FROM tbl_first WHERE userid='$uid')
UNION ALL
(SELECT txtid AS id, title, content, userid, date FROM tbl_second WHERE userid='$uid')
ORDER BY date
