Image path in DB, but how to display image?

This works:
while ($Row = mysql_fetch_array ($Result)) {

This doesn't:

Form handler is like this:
$uploaddir = '/usr/local/www/vhosts/domain.com/htdocs/images/userfiles/fish_pics/';
$uploadfile = $uploaddir . basename($FILES['photo']['name']);
if (move_uploaded_file($FILES['photo']['tmp_name'], $uploadfile)) {

$uploadfile is something like:
/path/to/file/htdocs/images/userfiles/fish_pics/ladyfish.jpg

I think I have to shorten the path to the site root and work out from there...

I feel like I'm not associating the path-to-pic with the name-of-the-pic.

DisplayDB.php is like this:
// $uploaddir = '/usr/local/www/vhosts/domain.com/htdocs/images/userfiles/fish_pics/';
$uploaddir = 'http://domain.com/images/userfiles/fish_pics/';
$uploadfile = $uploaddir . basename($_FILES['photo']['name']);

but it's 4am and I'm beat... Help anyone?

If they're all using the same folder, why not just create a variable and then store just the image name in the DB.

If you're doing it through multiple folders, why not just store the end of the folder it is going to and the image name (i.e. "fish_files/image2.jpg") in the DB and use a var like $basedir = $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'].'/images/';

This should be

$uploadfile = $uploaddir ."/". $_FILES['photo']['name'];
$moved = @move_uploaded_file($_FILES['photo']['tmp_name'], $uploadfile);
if (!$moved) {
// error
} else {
// do more

Please help me... I've tried so many different variations...

Path to pics is saved as database field uploadfile:
/usr/local/www/vhosts/domain.com/htdocs/images/userfiles/fish_pics/Xpic.jpg

When I recall it, it think it is bringing in the whole path. How do I cut the path down (ltrim?), and then put it in my recalled <img src= /usr/local/www/vhosts/domain.com/htdocs/images/userfiles/fish_pics/Xpic.jpg

Minus this bit:
"/usr/local/www/vhosts/domain.com/htdocs/"

So I end up with:
"../images/userfiles/fish_pics/Xpic.jpg"

It doesn't seem elegent somehow...

But for this one thing I'm SOOO close. It's so frustrating. I can't be the only one calling pics from MySQL in this manner...

Hmmm... rereading earlier post... It helps... but I still am not able to recall the info...

This is what I ended up using! How exciting! PHP rocks when it works! Or when the human codes it right.

$pattern = "/usr/local/www/vhosts/bigfloridafish.com/htdocs/";
$trimmer = "../";
$uploadfile = eregi_replace($pattern, $trimmer, $uploadfile);

P.S. How did you get your code nicely coloured up like that? Did you do it manually? Or was there some program/website that does that for you? Wish I could do that.

To put the colored code in, just use the PHP tags: [ php ] [ /php ] (without spaces) and it will show up in color.
