Software to mark a modified file as changed??

does anyone know of any program that you can use when building a php website that monitors all the files and tells you what file has changed since the last time you uploaded it??
like i use 2 editing programs to build my sites and edit the code and i always get confused what file i have and havent uploaded.
looking for a program that can tell me what file has changed and then once its uploaded mark it as uploaded.

Adobe GoLive, you can select "Upload Modified Files" and it will only upload the files that it sees have been modified. GoLive keeps a running database style in the background to monitor your actions and evaluate your pages.

Modification time is available in a variety of ways, and which one you use depends on how you work. The OS shell itself can give you file modification time in its directory listings, ftp clients can list the same information, and through PHP there is the [man]filemtime[/man] function (which uses the information supplied to it by the OS). And as Frederick pointed out, a lot of site editors also track modification times. Whichever way you work: the files to be uploaded are those with modification times later than the time you last uploaded 🙂
