PHP Calendar

Hey guys.

I'm trying to do something a little interesting here. I want to create a calendar system (simple & customized) to my site. Basically what it's going to do is display a calendar, 2 "mini" calendars for previous months, and have groups of users.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to create a script that will display a moth view. What would I need to call in order to get the calendar to show dates in the correct spots?

i.e.:

| Sun | Mon | Tue | Wed | Thur | Fri | Sat |
|........|.........|.......|....1...|....2....|..3..|..4..|
Etc.. Etc...

How would one go about doing that?

Those are well and goocd, but I don't do well in just copying & pasting code. I'd rather learn for myself how something works. Anyone know of any good tuts for creating a basic calendar?

If I get the basic calendar script down, I'm sure I can get the rest of what I want to do.

Like I said, my problem is this:

How do I code in PHP so that the calendar will align the correct dates with the correct days? (i.e. Jan 1 2005 is a Sat., Feb 21 is a Monday...).

I don't know of any tutorials, but here is a snippet to get you started (makes a calendar of the current month)
