[Resolved] search none-exact word (MySQL)

Hi there,
I'm having troubles with searching with mysql.. how to search picture names from mysql?, tables are containing picture names like: "picture89.jpg", "myfriends3.jpg" etc...

I can search the exact picture using

SELECT * FROM mypictures WHERE pictures LIKE '$entry' ORDER by id DESC

, but I want to know how to match 2 or 3 words from the searching entry.. and display the full name of selected filenames.

i.e: If searching entry is "picture76" then it should find all pictures where name start with "pic" and view the result. If anyone know how to do this, please let me know.

Do you mean two or three letters? If so, it's just a substr...

$sql = "SELECT * 
          FROM mypictures 
         WHERE pictures LIKE '".substr($entry, 0, 3)."'%
      ORDER BY id DESC";

Correction:
