how about i give a brief summary of what i am actually trying to do.
here in australia, textbooks are expensive. I wanted to do well in my final exam, so i purchased some outside school textbooks, costed me over $200 in total, brand new. After my exams...1 year later, I will have not much use for them. And it would be great if i can sell them, and get some of that money back. And i am sure another person would like to purchase these books, pratically new, at much lower prices. I have seen some student forums, with people trading and selling textbooks etc. So i thought it'll be nice if i could make a website, where the students can:
advertise the books they have, post up an address etc, price, condition, description.
and users can then do a search, on many different criterias, like condition, price, subject, and both parties can then either do the swap in person (if they are close, so an area search will also be needed), or the seller will post it.
I am not looking to make an ebay style user management system, just a simple page to change profile info, keep track of your items, and a simple rating or 'reputation' system for a successful deal, so others can know to trust the person.
I think the above pretty much covers the basics, i might add more features etc late on.
