exec and imagemagick

Hello,

I am trying to create a thumbnail image. I am using the following line of code.

exec("/usr/bin/convert -resize 640x480 -quality 40 /var/www/html/agent_images/$photo_name
/var/www/html/agent_images/thumbs/$photo_name");

This is not working....can you see anything odd with the way this line is structured? Also, I do not see any error messages for troubleshooting. Is their anyway i can troubleshoot this?

Does the command work from the command line? Could be permission issues. I had this problem. The files/directories imgmagik works with need to have the owner set correctly. Not sure what correctly is off hand but I know I had a similar issue.

Yes, thats what i thought too

I chmod 777 /var/www/html/agent_images/thumbs/

Just to test.....still nothing.

Yes the command works from the command line....just not in php

I think not just the permissions but the owner of the directory and file needs to be apache? After looking at mine thats how it is set-up and I believe I got nothing until I di that. No error, just nothing...
