Getting the id of a record

How can I know the id (autonumber field) of the record I've already insert. I have no other identification field.

Surely get id it's not the deepest thing in php. I'm really impress about the vast quantity of funtions, procedures, classes, etc. And bro, I've wrote a couple of zillions of line codes (not in the web environment of course).

So, I'll be sneaking around for a while ...

Yep. PHP is not built to some overaching scheme like eg ASP. Instead it grows organically. When someone needs something that would just be usefull for web programming then they or whomever create it. So its full of the things we need. This does mean that it can be a bit inconsistent in the way functions and syntax work, but hey, that is a small price to pay for the tools you need not the tools 'they' want you to use.
