[Resolved] edit file?

Hi,

I tried a few ways (echoing a readfile into the textarea and saving it) but it didn't work.

I need something that edits a file (where the filename gets method=post'ed to the edit screen) edits it in a text area, and then saves it when you click save.

Well, file_get_contents will return the file contents in a string. How you handle the string will depend upon the contents, eg. if it's html then you'll need to striptags or addslashes or whatever. Echo the treated string into the textarea, add the filename in a hidden field and wait for the user to return them. Then file_put_contents to write the edited string back to a file. Pay attention to the append or overwrite flags, I'm sure you want to overwrite the original file.
