getting vars from tables ?

With arrays you can quickly set up
variables with the extract() function.

Is there a similar function for use with a table on a db ?

I spend a lot of time typing out these varaibles what does everyone else do ?

There must be a quicker way !

Yep. You send the db a query and it returns a result set that you can use as you like. If you are really new to this the best thing I can suggest is that you go here and download the free chapters. It will get you up and running in no time. Or google for a tutorial on php/mysql
