Anyone used it at work?

Do you think a client/customer would download a copy of Zend Optimiser (free software that both decodes files encoded with the encoder and optimises the files) in order for them to use my software???

Ok ive never used it, however wouldnt most of your clients be having sites hosted by someone else? Not sure on your thinking but I find most do and most hosts these days do have Zend optimizer installed.

As for clients downloading it Id say no, however you could do it and tell them exactly what it does, why your using it etc, most of the time if the client can tell you are being honest they will have no problems with allowing you to install it or download/install it themselves.

By pointing out to them what Zend Optimiser is primarily for (optimisation), they could take that into consideration when weighing up the gains of installing it (e.g., less server load) against the costs (e.g., not being able to read your source).

But if they are asking you to develop it, it would mean they wouldnt know PHP (although there is the odd chance they might know quite a bit) so source code would be utterly useless unless, they wanted future additions, modifications by another person(s).

True, but the software I am planning on developing would be for sale and I don't know if I would want them changing it...
