Database type idea (extreme newbie)

Hi there,

I'm currently trying to set up a little shop. I have made all my layouts etc. and I am now at the stage where I think I need to install some kind of database(?).

If you go to www.InsertGame.co.uk you can see the type of thing I want, however right now it is only done in html.

I want to be able to update it easily and to be able to let users search though it with the button on the main page.

I have absolutely no idea (I can stress this enough) what I am doing with php so it really needs to be a simple method. If I could get an example webs site or a program to help me, I think that would be the easiest way.

Any suggestions will be very much appreciated. Thanks a lot

Also, how to I go about making a mySQL database? Isn't there a program that can help me do this?

Where is the site to be hosted?

If it is commercial web host then you need them to set you up with a website on a box with mysql, and to create your database and give you the login to is. Get a host that provides you with phpMyAdmin installed so that you can easily create your db tables etc.
