fwrite() and include() help

I am fairly new to PhP but am very familiar with scripting of all kinds.

I am currently using fwrite on my site as a guestbook

I have it working to where it post and include the text file to which it is writing.

Is there a function or anyway without using SQL or databases where i can either write to the top of the document or read from the last post up so the latest post will be at the top?

to write to the top of the file

$old = file_get_contents('posts.txt');

$data2add = 'foo';

$new = $data2add . $old;

// now use fopen in 'w' mode to write the file
