mysql backup...

Hi,

I am about to do an upgrade from mysql 3.23 to 4.0.

I want to backup the old version first, just in case the upgrade didn't go smoothly, I can simply restore the old files.

I'm not sure what file/directories to backup.

Any advice?

install 4 in a diff directory...then copy the data folder over to the new directory into the mysql folder, assuming table are myisam

I was hoping rather to do an actual upgrade using rpm. I made this decision because I've read success stories with the approach.
