After actually reading that post it sounds like the beginnings of a particularly untasteful (if that's a word) scam. I'm reluctant to dignify the post by following the link but at the same time I feel a profound sense of duty to investigate and, if my suspicions prove to be true, report them.
Apathy or responsibility, I just don't know which to choose 🙁
