adding bounce-backs to database

hi,
our NPO is hosted through Lunarpages.
we send a monthly newsletter...not spam.

we're looking for a way to keep track of our bounce-backs.
ideally, we would want to have bounce-backs automatically entered into our MySQL database so we can keep track of them, how many times they've bounced, etc.

any clues on how this can be done?
i don't know where to start!

wow, no one can give me a hint even?
i'm not sure how one can write a script that catches info on incoming bounce-backs and stores the info in the database.

surely someone must be doing this?
