I have a variable ($total) whose value is $100.00. Im trying to parse it on the lleft and right side so its value would become 100, and lose the $ and the .00 on both sides?
Lots of ways to do this, depending on how uniform the format of the value will be. Assuming it's always in the format you gave for an example, substr and strpos or explode are probably all you need.
$total = str_replace('$', '', $total); list($dollars, $cents) = explode('.', $total);
[EDIT]OMG, I missed two commas. OOPS..[/EDIT]
thanks
FYI- I missed two commas before. Fixed now.
RYAN, YOU DA MAN! Saw your web site and was amazed (I have MS too, but live in San Diego, to bad because that club looks really fun)
Thanks, I went on the MS150 for the first time last year and had a great time. This year I'm trying to get more team members and it looks good, I've had 3 people interested in the past 24 hours.
MORC is also a very fast growing bike club in MN. We're devoted to building and maintaining mountain bike trails.
