Sub-Domains and Session Cookie Help

Hey All,

I'm trying to get a session cookie to work across multiple sub-mains at www.themanroom.com including dvd.themanroom.com, and have already edited the php.ini file, setting session.cookie_domain = themanroom.com.

The login/logout/set cookie code I'm using is part of an old phpnuke site that served as a template to work off of. I've been able to get a cookie set for themanroom.com, but when I logout, it creates a cookie for www.themanroom.com and I can't figure out why.

If someone wouldn't mind registering, logging in, and logging out - all while checking their cookies, to see if they can spot anything, let me know. I can also post the log in, log out, set cookie code here as well. Best, Dan

the settings for the session cookies dont affect calls to setcookie()

there is a domain paramter to setcookie as well, and youll need to set that too.

im guessing you havent, and that would cause this problem.

The way the setcookie is done now during the login function is:

setcookie("user","$info",time()[phone]);

When I add the parameter for location and domain like so:

setcookie("user","$info",time()[phone],"/","themanroom.com");

It breaks the login process.

if you want the cookie to apply to the current domain, and all subdomains of the domain, put a . in front of the name like so

setcookie("user","$info",time()[phone],"/",".themanroom.com");

same goes for the session cookie domain
