Well figured this out, I was asking myself how we were being able to have write access while in class when he was showing examples and then not have it anywhere else. So after linking to the "origianl" databases folder and using those databases everything WORKED!
Problem: I had copy'd the database files into my own folder and put them under my own databases folder within my folder so as not to disturb the default ones. Doing this I took them out of the only folder with write access, so I assume we are supposed to link directly to the database files outside of our student directories.
Solution: Delete the copy'd databases I made and link to the original database files outside of our student folders.
I don't know if this will ever help anyone out but if they get in the same situation they can check this part.
