sending images through email

I have a site where I send out email to the members. I want to place an image in the email that I send the members. No matter what I try it doesn't work. Here is what I feel should work, but doesn't. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? I am using php. Here is my code--

$email = "[e-mail]";

    $subject = "Here is a photo from mysite.com";
    $message = "Hello $username,

To all members blah blah blah.....

    Thank you,
    Mysite.com

    <img border=0 src=http://mysite.com/images/anyphoto.gif  width=780 height=90>";

mail($email, $subject, $message, "From:  mysite.com Webmaster<[e-mail]>\nX-Mailer: PHP/" . phpversion());

You need to add some MIME headers I think.

Try this as the last arg of mail()

"From: mysite.com Webmaster<[e-mail]>\r\nX-Mailer: PHP/" . phpversion(). "\r\nMIME-Version: 1.0\r\nContent-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1\r\n";

And don't forget to write the rest of the email as HTML as well.
