Creating a web based search of mysql table

Hi all,
I am trying to update my site for the first time in a year (it has worked so well from all the help I got here).

What I want to do is take out that crappy Google Search deal from my page and put in my own search that obviously searches the entire table and displays the results.

I am not sure how to approach this and I tried searching these forums, but I really don't know what keywords to use.

Any help or point in the right direction would be great.

make a serach box and a submit button
have it load a page called search.php
on which youll get the variable from the texxtbox

take this variable and do a search on your table and output the answers
