which error do you get exactly ? Make sure that there are no whitespaces at the end of the line

I don't think that you need the \n inside the heredoc block.

Ok, this is the error that I am getting:

Parse error: parse error in login.php on line 24

assuming the code you posted is login.php,
try retyping the last few lines by hand

some editors sometimes screw things up and cause mysterious parse errors.

btw- your doctype is invalid. the first part is a transitional doctype, the second part is a strict doctype. i dont think you can mix them up like that.

I forgot to mention that there also mustn't be any whitespaces at the end of the line

Hello all,

Thanks for your replies.

As rehfield pointed towards the fact that some editors may screw up with the code, I opened the code file via notepad and I saw the characters like after each line.

I fixed this and now my code is working fine.

(oh! and I was making that DOCTYPE mistake everywhere in my project and it was working fine. Nobody pointed towards it 🙂)
