Page to download a file

Hi,

I need a php page with a button that when clicked will give the user the option to save and download the file to their PC

The file would be a wmv file for example lets call it

test.wmv

I do not want them to be able to load it just to save it to their pc

Preferably without giving the exact location for the file

Can anybody help me on this please

because i think you want a file not opened in the clients browser you should use more headers:

header ("Content-type: application/pdf");
header ("Content-Length: " . $INT_filesize);
header ("Content-Disposition: outline; filename=" . $STR_filename);
// etc.

important is the part: "outline" to bring up a new window with the question "save or open", otherwise it will open some files (like wmv, wma ...) directly in the browser.
